Abigail McNair, LGPC, MA
I am a Maryland therapist and the founder of SOVRN Therapy. My work examines how trauma, relationships, inherited meanings, and adaptive patterns shape a woman’s access to herself.
Insight matters. So do the conditions under which insight must be lived.

Clinical orientation
My role is not to prescribe a particular life. It is to make the arrangement legible and support choices that can be sustained.
Stabilization, memory processing, grief, and attachment injury, including what remains active in the body.
Symptoms and decisions considered within relationships, family systems, culture, power, and material conditions.
Integrated when clinically appropriate to process traumatic memories and unresolved experience.
Methods selected by need, readiness, and the current clinical task rather than a fixed sequence.
Alongside clinical practice, I am developing the Sovereign Passage, a founder-authored framework concerned with women’s authority, identity, and transition. Writing lets the questions emerging from practice be developed in public form.
It is used within SOVRN Therapy as an organizing lens where appropriate, not as a standalone validated psychotherapy protocol or diagnostic instrument.
